|CURRENT 6th Grade Students Must Have Proof Of Whooping Cough Immunization. Please submit proof of shot to school office by March 27, 2017|
Grading has been updated. There are only two assignments that I still have to work on at this moment. Students were given a grade report today and asked to look it over very carefully and make sure I had not made any mistakes. Kids were allowed to turn in any work that was on the no name board or that I had missed due to human error. I fixed these mistakes within the class period and gave the work back to the kids. Hopefully you find your student's current progress all that you expect of him or her.
Textbooks are available on line at my.hrw.com. Students use their SSID number as the user name and the password. If you do not have internet access or feel your child needs a hard copy of the textbook, you can have your child pick up a Textbook Request Form from me. You fill out the form and have your child return the form to the library in order to receive the textbook to take home for the year.
Your child will be asked to complete a "first read", the first step in the Close Reading Process at home on occasions. Short quizzes will follow these evening reads in order to ensure your child has read and is ready for class.
This does not need to be done for short absences. Your child will be allowed to checkout a text book or use the online text to do assignment completions after absences.
Have a good weekend.
I truly hope you had a rest filled summer.
Parents, I will try to maintain just this one website. You will not need to "join" any individual class sites as this website will be for information only. You will be able to see what homework for the week is and locate printouts that were handed out in class as homework. This website will be updated Monday evenings in order to ensure students have written down the homework for the week during class. They should not rely on this site.
It is my goal to have any vocabulary, spelling, or reading assignments located here.
There is a large calendar in my classroom where I will also write all of this same information. I will also begin checking and stamping student agendas that have this information written down so that the kids are held accountable for keeping track of what they need to know and when it is due. Most homework is planned and written on the calendar on Monday. Each assignment will be due the day after it appears on the calendar unless otherwise stated. All worksheets that are homework will be handed out on Monday so that you and your child can plan accordingly. If your child's Thursday evening is busy with practices then he or she should complete the work earlier in the week so that it is done on time.
Please keep checking back here for additions and changes as the year progresses.
Thank you and again welcome back. I look forward to having your child in class this year.
